Stage 5 of 8 · Ten Nonstop

Run 10 minutes without stopping

Ten continuous minutes is the wall where calendar plans lose the most runners — the plan says it's time before the body says 'ready'. You arrive differently: already running twenty minutes per session in pieces. This stage just removes the walls between the pieces.

Who this stage is for

"I can run five minutes at a time" — if that's you, this is your starting stage.

The training week

Three sessions, at least a day apart, roughly half an hour each. Every session starts with a five-minute easy walk and ends the same way.

Repeat weeks: Repeat weeks: grow Run A's first block by one minute (10 → 11 → 12) until ten feels routine.

The test

Run 10 minutes without stopping — and in the same session, …then after a 3-minute walk, run 8 more minutes.

Both parts, same session — the double test proves you're ready for real endurance building, not just willing to empty the tank once.

Coach's notes

Ten continuous minutes is the wall where week-by-week calendar plans lose the most people. A mastery-based ladder gets you here differently: by the time you attempt ten nonstop, you're already running twenty minutes per session in pieces.

"Somewhere around minute six it gets easier. Nobody believes this until minute six." — Coach
